Democratic National Convention

My wife and I watched a couple hours of the Democratic National Convention last night- including the speeches of Edward Kennedy and Michelle Obama….along with a number of others.

The most meaningful speech was from a former Representative, Jim Leach. He made sense…not dynamic but reasonable and intelligent. Ted Kennedy’s appearance was, I’m certain, energizing to the crowd…both because of his health struggle and his excellent rhetoric.

Michelle Obama seems an excellent person, and had a warm speaking style. I thought it unfortunate that she spent so much time defending their ‘common’ roots, given there are so many important issues for the Party and her to address. As a woman, she had an excellent stage to reinforce a vision and a platform being established this week by the Party and her husband.

As an aside, for two hours I don’t think I heard much about enterprise and entrepeneurship.
